committed to:
worship, prayer, relationship, apostles teaching.
-We were created to glorify God.
-We can view every hardship in life as an opportunity
to grow and glorify God.
-We must intimately know Him and spend time with Him
to be transformed to be more like him and by that be a glory to Him.
-growing honors God. growing is commanded. growing is
useful.
-We must be more willing to look foolish than to not
grow and honor God.
-grow in faith, assurance, love, compassion, mercy, gentleness,
boldness, etc.
-it is His love for people that we want to grow in not
just a human love.
To effectively grow you must:
a) remember what you learned so you can better yourself
next time. (if you forget you haven't learned.)
b) review each day what you learned. (this doubles the
impact of what you learn.)
c) pray and take specific action with what you have learned.
(this quadruples it.)
d) strategies, make plans and goals to improve, concentrate
your efforts.
e) set up motivation and energy wells that you can draw
on in time of need. (i.e. an intimate relationship with God, peers; a hobby
that energizes you; etc.)
-God cares about people with an infinite love.
-people are your greatest learning and growth asset.
-what makes criticism constructive?
the attitude of the _reciever_.
-listen empathetically, listen with your eyes.
-compare and contrast,
-faith without actions is dead, so too love is dead and
worthless if not expressed.
-Pro: more gain is had from open rebuke than hidden love.
