Christians Equipping Christians

Why We Should Have Bad Preachers

Leader Larry

has become addicted to:
being the star player,
being in the lime light,
having people look up to him, respect him,
being seen as doing (all or most of) the work of the ministry, owning God's ministry,

Paul Pew has become addicted to :
sitting, staying,
listening to sermons,
someone feeding them instead of feeding themselves, remaining silent,
doing nothing,
being a spectator or critic instead of a doer,
paying someone to fulfill his responsibility,
not doing his own work for God,
being dependent on the pastor or other leaders,
not growing,
not thinking for himself, n
ot encountering God,
not exercising his spiritual gifts,
ignoring God's call on his life,
not being accountable to others,
not spending deep relational time with other believers, owning all the time that God has given him,

If sermons are our the only spiritual food he eats he is malnutrition and dying. Our call is not to maintain but to grow in the spiritual walk. Are you growing in faith, assurance and love? Are you adding to your faith?

Are you in a small group?

This requires :
- a time commitment, a devotion to relationships. [Acts ]
- a willingness to look foolish [ill: baby determined to walk] - a greater devotion to grow than to look good, or respectable.
- a motivation, a devotion to God and to His glory.
(we were created to be devoted to God... we can never be happy otherwise)
