Christians are the Worst Sinners
The Worst Christian Sins
1. Not Giving Honor to God
1. Christians have made their God smaller than he is, thereby
setting up a false image of God and worshipping it; and a too high view
of themselves, making themselves idols to be worshipped. Either
they deny
His personhood and say that He is only impersonal energy,
or
His all-powerfulness and say that He is unable to do
certain things, or
His independence of matter and say He is limited by His
creation, or
His holiness and say that god is not a judging God, or
His love for all mankind so that they may blame Him for
their and man's evils, or
His love for all mankind so that they may turn away from
people in need, or
His grace and say that they are worthy themselves and
basically good, or
His rule over everything and so they think that they
can escape His judgement and discipline, or
His all-knowingness and say that they know better what
sin is than He, or
His presence everywhere and so think they can sin without
Him seeing, or
His trustworthiness so that they may deny their own unwillingness
to trust Him, or
His creator status so that they might not be held accountable
to Him their creator, or
His upholding of the universe so they can believe He
is far away from them, or
His giving then everything they have so that they somehow
can feel pride in themselves, or
they deny
their own complete state of continuous sinfulness, or
their own inward poverty and need before God, or
their own duty and failure to do good and obey Him, or
their responsability and failure to love their neighbor
as themselves, or
their own unworthiness to recieve anything from God,
or
their own worthiness to suffer for the pain they have
inflicted on others, or
their need for a Saviour to rescue them from God's rightful
judgement of their sins, or
2. Easy Believism
2. The second failing of the church is that they succomb
to `easy-believism' or blind faith. They believe
things without proof or reason just because it pleases them
to do so. And they think that by believing something
hard enough and pretending something it is true, even though it isn't,
will make it come true by the power of their faith.
The bible instead calls all those who care to ACTION.
Faith without works is dead and so love without loving action is no love
at all. They deny God's rightful call for them to sacrifice their life
to serve what is right and fight what is not. Examples of this are believing
that God is going to heal everyone, or believing that God answers EVERY
prayer.
We are ALL GUILTY of
these sins
to one degree or another.
We all stand IN GRACE.
